About Me

KabataanDesigning has almost always never been felt as work for many graphic designers especially for freelance ones. Why, who wouldn’t be happier when you don’t have to get up at 6am battle the city traffic, fingers constantly crossed hoping to get to work on time? And who would not rather stay in bed all comfortably tucked in and warm as the rest of the office-employed population are getting soaked in the pouring rain, grunting about another failed PAG-ASA forecast? Best of all, who would trade-in their teeny yet mighty laptops for an all powerful desktop system when you can have the “luxury” to sit by cafe over-looking a white-sand shore and sending your finished work to a satisfied client (of course with the aid of WI-FI)?

Vector MeMy name is Michelle Rinosa and I consider myself one of the lucky designers who bid an early goodbye to the same old walls of the creative room (well, some try to make the workplace as appetizing as possible for the creative juices to keep on flowing, but it never really worked for me) and to dealing with the hierarchy of creative and account executives.

What made me brave enough to ditch my full-time job when I merely had a month’s salary saved up in my bank account?

My Childhood DreamAgain, I think I was lucky to have some freelance projects way back in college and never ran out even after graduation. I even got an extra job that pays every two weeks (on top of my salary from my job in a full-service ad agency) and I just had to work for 2-3 hours per day and never had to wait til I get home to finish the job. (Oops! What, I’d rather do my side jobs using the company’s resources rather than waste my time surfing or playing online games… But I advise against both so you wouldn’t blame me if you got fired from being caught.:D )

One project done=One Satisfied Client=Good Referrals. That’s how I mainly gained enough projects to sustain my living expenses and other doodads. Marketing yourself is another thing and this is the sole purpose of this blog.
